If you own an Amelia Island business that is not fishing related and you would like to advertise
your business on this web site, click here.
If you are a charter captain in Amelia Island or the surrounding area, or a tackle shop owner, you can
advertise your business on this web site at no charge.
But we are going to make you work a little; in exchange for free advertising here, we ask that you
provide us with a weekly fishing report from the area in which you fish. The report doesn't have to be long, it doesn't have
to be fancy (just a plain email) and you don't have to divulge all your top-secret baits or provide us with GPS coordinates
for your hot spots. We realize that charter captains fish for a living, so you need to keep a few secrets...
The format for a report would look something like this:
Mayport Jetties - Jetty fishing has been hot this week, with big bull reds biting on almost anything,
but they seem to prefer live mullet and cut croaker. Trout are there, but they are sluggish in the cold water; you may get them to hit
live mullet or jigs on the bottom tipped with dead shrimp. Whiting are everywhere, with a preference for dead shrimp.
Offshore - The wind has died down, and the grouper are biting well; we've caught our limit on every trip
this week. Sharks are biting also, and we landed a 100 lb black tip on Tuesday. Snapper have been a little slow but they are starting to
pick up. Mahi are biting well too; you'll find them around floating weeds.
At the end of every fishing report, we'll add your name, the name of your boat or charter business, your telephone
number, and a link to your web site if you have one:
See you next week, Captain Bill Clinton Shake & Bake Charters 904 555-1212 www.BillyGoesFishin.Com
You can click the Fishing Reports link at the top of this page to see the actual format of the reports that have
been submitted.
We need to keep the fishing reports here current because current reports seem to be what interest people,
and last years fishing reports are easy to find, the Internet is littered with them. As long as you submit a weekly report, we'll keep
a graphic ad (like the ones at the top of this page) displayed on the main page of the web site. If the weather gets bad or the fishing
gets slow, we'll understand, but if we don't hear from you for a month, we'll remove your ad from the main page.
Digital Pictures - if you'd care to submit the occasional digital picture (one a week would be fine) we'd be happy
to add that to our Photo Gallery section. Because of the way our photo gallery database is designed, we can only accept pictures in "horizontal"
format and not vertical ones. You can email us the picture just as it came out of the camera, with a one or two line description, and our picture
server will automatically resize it when we upload it to the Photo Gallery. We'll include your business information in the description of
the picture, which in turn gives you more exposure.
Articles or Fishing Tips are something else we'd appreciate from charter captains; for example "How To Catch Reds
With Blue Crabs" or "Rigs For Jetty Fishing". We'll be happy to give you extra credit for any articles or tips you'd care to submit,
and we'll make sure they contain info about your business and links to your web site, which will again give your business more exposure.
Since the advertising space on our main page is limited, we can only offer this exchange to a limited number of charter captains.
We feel it's an offer that will benefit us all; the more information about fishing we have on this web site, the more visitors the web site will
get and the more exposure your business will get.
If you are interested, please use our email form to contact us. Thanks.
