The Penn Jigmaster - Model 500

Jigmasters are still available today as "new old stock" in some tackle shops, but Penn no longer makes them. The Jigmaster features "one screw take apart" and is easily disassembled with no tools for spool changes or maintenance. This reel is still popular today with surf fishermen. Jigmaster's were also produced as a "high speed" model, number 505HS.

The fourth picture shows the left side plate on two Jigmasters - the left (red) side plate with no engraving is on a newer Jigmaster than the burgundy one on the right.

The last picture is from Penn Catalog Number 22, which is thought to be from around 1960.
