I'm told this reel is from the late 1930's or early 1940's, pre 1941. It has a very old style Penn logo, the early style knurled clicker knob, and the handle knob is made from Catlin, an impact resistant plastic that is still used today to make billiard balls. This reel was later marketed as the "Live Liner".
