The gate modifications have made the water much deeper on the south side of the road, and if you have some small kids who want
a quick fishing trip, the south side is loaded with pinfish, which are easy to catch with small hooks and pieces of shrimp. If you are looking for
pinfish for bait, it won't take long to fill up the bait bucket here.
At times you can catch finger mullet and shrimp here too, but the water on both sides of the road is loaded with junk (rocks and
oyster shells) so it's not a great place to throw a cast net.
No telling what you might see or catch here; I've seen dolphins this far into the creek chasing bait fish and I've seen people
catch juvenile tarpon here too.
